The Journey

Inspiring a return from survival to joyful living, where we meet ourselves with compassion and remember the wholeness and aliveness that have always been ours

What is Somatic Journeying?

A gentle, body-led journey that supports nervous system regulation, guides the integration of disowned parts, and nurtures a deeper sense of inner safety, emotional balance, and aliveness.

A Somatic Journeying is a gentle, trauma-informed pathway back to the wisdom of your body — a sacred space where you can soften, breathe, and remember the parts of you that have longed to be met with compassion.

Through techniques including body-based meditation, regulating breath work, nervous system regulation, embodied emotional processing (incl. IFS informed parts work and inner child soothing), manifestation and embodiment practices, you’re gradually guided home to your natural wholeness and aliveness.

This work invites you to root into safety, expand your inner capacity, tend to the parts of you that hold pain or unsupportive survival strategies, and step into a more authentic, grounded and fulfilling way of being.

Transformations Clients Notice on Their Journey

It is not about changing who you are. It is about returning to the truth of who you’ve always been.

Four Stages of Inner Safety & Expansion

Every session meets you exactly where you are. Some clients spend several sessions building safety, while others arrive with strong regulation and work primarily on integration or manifestation. All paths are welcome.

Somatic Journeying is a gentle return to yourself — to the wisdom of your body, the compassion of your heart, and the wholeness that has always lived beneath the noise. The Journey typically unfolds in four stages, which are interwoven and build on each other. These are not steps we rush through in one session. Instead, they represent the natural, organic phases people move through on their somatic journey — often revisiting, deepening, or skipping, depending on where their body is in the moment.

Finding Safety

Grounding, Softening & Resourcing

Before anything can open, the body needs to feel safe. Through calming body-based meditation, often with gentle music, you will be invited to start inhabiting your body with more presence and tenderness — creating a foundation of safety and awareness. We always start sessions with grounding & resourcing and come back to it regularly.

Key somatic techniques:

  • Body-based meditation

  • Grounding & orienting tools

  • Inner and outer resourcing

  • Regulating breath work

Growing Capacity

Expanding Inner Strength & Self-Holding

As safety takes root, your capacity naturally grows. You begin meeting your emotions, bodily sensations and parts with more compassion and less fear. Your ability to hold yourself deepens — not by pushing through discomfort, but by cultivating loving presence, acceptance, and inner steadiness.

Key somatic techniques:

  • Compassionate witnessing

  • Deep inner listening

  • Emotional stabilisation techniques (e.g. sensory resourcing through supportive self-touch, gentle movement, etc.)

Exploring, Processing & Integrating

Meeting & Integrating What Has Been Hidden

When the body feels ready, deeper enquiry becomes possible. Together, we explore the places within you that have been carrying pain, fear, or silence. We gently explore your survival strategies, limiting beliefs, somatic imprints of stress or trauma, meet your inner child needs, and more. All in a safe and loving container of your own body.

Key somatic techniques:

  • Resourced somatic enquiry

  • IFS-inspired parts work

  • Inner child soothing

  • Somatic processing & integration of emotional blocks and disowned parts

  • Embodied self-nourishment

Unleashing Your Creative Power

Embodying Your Truth & Receiving Fully

As your inner world integrates, something beautiful happens: you step into a more authentic, alive version of yourself. This stage is about reclaiming your wholeness, saying yes to who you are, and creating a life that reflects your deepest inner freedom, while tending compassionately to any blocks that may still surface.

Key somatic techniques:

  • Trauma-informed manifestation tools:

    • Future self-visioning

    • Somatic alignment scoring

    • Somatic exploration & release of limiting beliefs

    • Positive belief planting

    • Future self embodiment tools and more

What to expect in a session?

Sessions are generally gentle, slow, and collaborative — always guided by your body’s wisdom. Although all clients and experiences are unique and individual, most clients describe this work as nourishing, calming, clarifying, and deeply connecting.

A colorful sunset sky with pink, purple, and orange hues, silhouette of leafless trees, and birds flying.
  • At the beginning of the session, we will discuss your intention and what you would like to explore during our time together. We will check in on what’s alive for you in the moment. There’s no pressure, just curiosity.

The session might entail a body-connected meditative journey with or without gentle music, during which we will meet what is arising in your body with presence and compassion. The journey will be collaborative - I will provide guidance but I trust and honour the wisdom of your body and we will move at your pace at all times.

The core of the session might also entail embodied processing or manifestation techniques, depending on your intention and your body’s guidance.

We will leave a few minutes at the end of the session to reflect on anything that arises.

  • Each and every somatic journey is individual and unique. During your session, you may feel more confident and carefree, you may experience deep inner peace, deeper connection to your body and your true authentic self, long suppressed emotions might resurface and start getting released, you may experience a breakthrough in a particular area of your life, something else entirely or nothing particularly groundbreaking other than feeling more relaxed and peaceful. We will move at your pace and will always only access those parts of you that you feel ready to connect with.

There’s no right or wrong way to experience the session. Your body knows what it needs in any given moment. I’ll be there to guide and support you, but you get to sit in the driver’s seat throughout and craft your own experience.

There may be tears, laughter, loud exhales, yawns, long stretches, gentle sways of the body, dancing, pillow punches, singing, shouting, snoring, the list goes on. Any form of body-based expression is welcome, as long as it does not cause harm to yourself or others.

  • Whilst some clients are ready to dive deep into their emotional blocks or manifestations and can experience major breakthroughs in a matter of a couple of sessions, somatic work is typically a gentle step-by-step modality that requires longer-term practice in order to bring on truly transformational and lasting results.

Just like a young tree takes time to grow its root system before the shoot begins to develop leaves, stems and eventually branches, for most of us it takes sustained and conscious practice to create a sense of inner trust and unwavering safety within. However, each and every time we invite somatic practices in, we get closer to embodying lasting feelings of peace, joy, wholeness and completeness.

  • To get the most from our time together, here are a few suggestions:

    • Unless arranged otherwise, all sessions are online and you will need a laptop. I’ll invite you to access each session using a Zoom link, which will be emailed to you upon booking.

    • Creating a quiet, private, distraction-free space is essential, so you can feel comfortable, relaxed and you will not be disturbed.

    • I suggest that you make yourself as comfortable as you can – wear comfortable clothes that allow your body to move and breathe freely, perhaps have a pillow and a cosy blanket handy.

    • I strongly suggest that you use headphones with a microphone for a more immersive experience.

    • I invite you to come to the session with an intention, something you’d like to explore, shift, or bring awareness to (e.g. exploring a specific limiting belief, pattern or emotion). If you’re not sure, don’t worry, we’ll find one together.

    • One of the core benefits of somatic work is re-connection with our true authentic self and I’d love to encourage you to show up just as you are—messy hair, pyjamas, big yawns, laughter, tears—all is welcome. Just be yourself.

    • It is important that you keep your camera on (with your chest and face visible at all times), to help us stay connected, attuned and present throughout our time together.

    • If you’d like to jot down any reflections or breakthroughs, feel free to bring a notepad.

    • You might also like to have tissues and a glass of water nearby.
