Where galactic adventures meet neuroscience-based embodied processing

Sometimes we feel a lot. Sometimes we feel nothing at all.

And sometimes… we just feel a little disconnected from ourselves, as if drifting in a galaxy far, far away.

Our focus for this session is inspired by a fascinating piece of neuroscience. Harvard-trained Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor found that some emotions can physically move through the body in just 90 seconds. When feelings linger longer than that, it might often be because our mind's "story" is keeping the emotion stuck in our nervous system.

During this body-based session, we will practice gently sitting with our emotions so they can move. We'll explore states such as longing, compassion, fear, anxiety, steadiness, and mild anger, all guided by the stories of Star Wars characters.

This is a beautiful, gentle practice that may be of interest both personally and as inspiration for those integrating somatic approaches into their work.

This is not about Star Wars knowledge.
You absolutely don’t need to be a Star Wars fan.

This is simply a doorway into something deeply human: learning how to be with the full palette of your inner experience… with kindness.

The event is designed to be impactful for Star Wars fans and non-fans alike.

And if you are a fan and you feel playful on the day, you’re welcome to dress up as your favourite Star Wars character, although this is entirely optional.

Through a guided somatic journey, you’ll be invited to:

  • Notice how emotions live and move in the body

  • Gently meet sensations with curiosity instead of resistance

  • Explore both “light” and “shadow” with compassion

  • Allow energy (emotion) to flow in a safe, supported way

  • Reconnect with a sense of inner steadiness and presence

There is nothing you need to do “right” here.
You are always in choice.

  • This space may be supportive for you if:

    • You’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally flat

    • You’re curious about somatic (body-based) healing

    • You want to relate to your emotions in a kinder, safer way

    • You’re drawn to gentle, reflective, heart-centred spaces

    • You’re open to a slightly playful, imaginative approach

    You are welcome exactly as you are.

  • This is a guided somatic experience, which means:

    • You’ll be invited to close your eyes or soften your gaze

    • You may be guided to notice sensations in your body

    • There may be gentle invitations for breath, movement, or stillness

    • You are always free to pause, open your eyes, or adjust at any time

    There is no sharing required, everything is optional.
    You can simply come, experience, and receive.

  • Your nervous system matters here.

    You will be gently guided throughout, with regular reminders that:

    • You can go at your own pace

    • You can skip any invitation

    • You can return to grounding (feet, breath, hands on body) at any time
